Looking forward to the year ahead...

As 2016 comes to a close, we at Angry Horse Brewing are taking a moment to reflect on the last six months.

The last six months have been full of planning, construction and plenty of hard work and dedication to get us to closer to the finish line of opening our taproom doors in 2017. We signed a lease, started and nearly finished construction, installed tanks, a brewhouse and walk-in, built the bar and the tables, we passed our ABC walk-through, we have our C of O inspections scheduled, and we were granted our TTB license.

While we accomplished a lot, we were also challenged to learn. With the help of a craft beer attorney, we’ve learned about the legal process involved in opening a brewery. We’ve learned how to do nearly every aspect of construction and developed our project management but most importantly, we’re continuously learning how to run a company successfully with the help of our outstanding board and investors.

Our biggest challenge has been managing delays. It’s not easy to accept them when they are out of our control, especially while managing the stress associated with starting a business, but through it all we’ve had a good time working together towards our goal.

It really has been a gratifying experience. The extraordinary support we’ve received from everyone has been amazing. We’ve had family come up for a weekend to help, friends come to grind concrete, build tables, tear down walls, paint, and tile, apply base, lift signs, mop floors, you name it. We’re grateful to so many people who believe in what we’re trying to do. We’re grateful to be involved with a city that has been nothing but supportive.  The community of Montebello, the city council and its employees, regularly stop by to say hi and ask how things are going. We’re grateful for it all.

So as another year comes to an end, we at Angry Horse Brewing are now looking toward the year ahead. 2017 is the year we open our doors! In the next few months, we will be working with the city to plan a small event to launch the brewery. Meanwhile we’ll be finishing construction and obtaining all our licensing. We’ll be busy brewing and counting down the days until we can invite the larger community to sample our recipes and continue to craft them with feedback from you!

We are dedicated to making this year the year we show off all of our hard work, and continue to grow in Montebello. We’re resolved to brew and provide premium quality beer. Help us ring in the New Year. We’ll see you soon!
