Beer with a purpose, a beer with a purpose, Angry Horse Brewing’s beer has a purpose.
These words flow out of my mind so freely and organically. At Angry Horse, we are everyday folks that you see in your community; a mom, a dad, a best friend, a sister, a brother. But how does that community play into a small business like ours? How can we make a difference and build something that we talk about? These are questions that we try to answer everyday, whether it be by creating a place where everyone is welcomed or by creating well-crafted beer that everyone can enjoy. But it’s more, way more.
The desire to promote the welfare of others, expressed especially by donation of money to good causes.
In the short time we have been part of the Montebello community, we have given to many causes that we believe in and have been impacted by. Why? Because it’s in our DNA. Our team is filled with very special, ordinary people who are socially conscience, full of compassion and public-spiritedness.
One of our favorite organizations is right here in Montebello. The Heart of Compassion (HOC) was founded in 1993 as a food bank and social service organization that works to alleviate hunger, food insecurities and the suffering of those who have fallen on hard times. Their vision is to empower residents in the community that are living in poverty to achieve self-sufficiency. For the 2nd year in a row we will join in their toy drive benefiting their “Miracle on Maple St.“ event.
Not only do we believe in donating, we believe in action. Join us in changing someone’s life, be purposely compassionate and donate your time and/or a gift next time you come into the taproom.
As I sign off, I leave you with this quote by Steve Maraboli;
“Give yourself entirely to those around you. Be generous with your blessings. A kind gesture can reach a wound that only compassion can heal.”
This holiday season as we think of our family and friends, I think of our Angry Horse Community, because at the end of the day, our beer has a purpose.
