Mexican Independence & Earthquake Relief Efforts
On September 16th, some members of our community celebrated Mexican Independence. We got to know some of them and they explained why it’s important for them to celebrate this holiday.
Meet Martin Espino, Karen Sanchez, Brijido Alejandro Perez and Josephine Jael Jimenez.
So we brought the celebration to our taproom. We had the Tepeyac on the Road food truck from the neighboring City of Industry come by to serve some of their signature Mexican dishes, we featured our Haystack Kolsch Micheladas and we had an awesome turn out to watch Mexico’s own Canelo Alvarez take on Kazakhstan’s Golovkin.
But as we look back on this past weekend, it’s hard to not be shaken by this week’s 7.1 earthquake that struck Mexico City, on the 32nd anniversary of their 1985 earthquake, no less.
That’s why this weekend Angry Horse is going to be raising funds for the 2017 Mexico Earthquakes. We are asking all of our customers to join us in our contribution. There will be a donation box in the taproom Friday, September 22nd through Monday, September 25th. Funds will be donated to Direct Relief and their Mexico Earthquake relief efforts. They are a humanitarian medical aid organization based in Santa Barbara with offices in Mexico City. Their mission is to improve the health and lives of people affected by poverty and emergencies.
Nurturing our community is one of our founding principals and we hope that you join us in taking the time to recognize this one in need.
